The Dispatch
About the Dispatch
The Dispatch is a short note, published every morning, on how property really works in Tzaneen, Polokwane and the rest of Limpopo. It covers buying and selling, renting, sectional title, municipal rates and valuations, the Deeds Office and deceased estates, in plain words and without hype.
Who writes it
The Dispatch is published by Sipho Mahayi, principal of McBeth Kings (Pty) Ltd, a property firm based in Tzaneen. The firm is registered with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA), Firm FFC 202614016310000, and Sipho is its registered principal, FFC 202623032820000. Every note goes out under his name.
What to expect
Each note makes one point in a few short paragraphs. The first sentence is the answer and the rest explains it. We name real documents and real offices, such as the rates clearance certificate, the conveyancer and the levy statement. We leave out figures and dates that go stale, so what you read today should still hold next year. Where the answer depends on your situation, the note says so.
What it is not
The Dispatch is general information. It is not legal, financial or tax advice. For a particular property, speak to a conveyancer, your bank or a registered property practitioner.
Finding your way around
Today’s note is on the front page, and every earlier note is in the archive. If you want to know what a particular property is valued at by the municipality, the property value lookup on the main site searches the Tzaneen and Polokwane valuation rolls.
